7 from JK crack civil services exam : Anudeep Durishetty from Hyderabad topped in the exam

The results of Combined Civil Services 2017 were declared on Friday with seven candidates from Kashmir who cracked the exam.

The written examination was conducted in October-November last year while the interview was conducted in February-April this year.

A candidate from Hyderabad Anudeep Durishetty topped in the exam in his 5th and last attempt.

Fazal ul Haseeb secured 36th rank, Abhishek Sharma with 69th rank and Vivek Bhagat with 967th rank. The other candidates include Haseeb from Srinagar, Atul Choudhary from Samba; Amir Bashir from Mendhar; Mohammad Farooq from Reasi. A girl Inabat Khaliq from the Valley has made it to the list with 378th rank.

Talking to media Faz Lul Haseeb said it was his father’s dream to join the prestigious service, which drove him on the path of success.
“This was my third attempt and my father has been a motivation,” he said.

Haseeb is the son of Farooq Ahmad Peer, Director Academics Jammu Kashmir Board of School Education.

Haseeb did his early education from Burn Hall school and completed his Bachelors in Technology from the University of Jammu in 2014.

Inabat is the daughter of rheumatologist at Government Medical College Srinagar and she had qualified the exam last year as well with 605th rank.

The total candidates selected are 990 with 180 in Indian Administrative Service; 42 in Indian Foreign Service and 150 in Indian Police Service. The rest have been selected for Central Services Group A and B. (RK)
