Srinagar: Traffic was allowed on Bandipora-Gurez in north Kashmir on Thursday after remaining closed for more than a week.
Officials said, The 84-km long Bandipora-Gurez road was thrown open for vehicular traffic movement after snow was cleared from the road.
The road was closed on Jan 2 following heavy snowfall in Gurez and Razdan Pass, officials said.
DC Bandipora, Shahid Choudhary wrote on Tweeter, “Traffic allowed. Anti-skid chain mandatory. Vehicles moved in groups.”
Choudhary added, “Gurez road has been opened. However in view of weather forecast we will take a call on traffic tomorrow.”
