Parliament disruption : Prime Minister Modi to fast on April 12, Amit Shah will join

Srinagar  10 April :

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will observe a day-long fast along with BJP president Amit Shah and other leaders to protest against the washout of the second edition of the budget session of Parliament that ended on April 6 due to protests by opposition parties.

“The Prime Minister will observe a fast even while engaged in his official duty and official engagements,” BJP spokesperson G.V.L. Narsimha Rao.

BJP President Amit Shah will observe a hunger strike at Hubli in Karnataka while party MPs will fast in their constituencies. This session was the least productive since 2000.

The BJP and the the main Opposition party, the Congress, have blamed each other for the impasse.

Meanwhile Union Minister Ananth Kumar on Monday said BJP and NDA MPs won’t take salaries and allowances for 23 days, due to a Parliament stalemate he blamed on the Congress.

“This money is given to serve the people and if we are not able to do so we have no right to take the people’s money,” he was quoted as saying.
